About The AuthorCharles “Nolen” Rollins is the Founder and President of GPS Life Journey, Inc. (GPSLifeJourney.org) He is the Founder and Pastor Emeritus of Legacy Church, Estero, Florida, and Co-Founder of Summit Church, Estero, Florida.
Nolen has over fifty years of experience in nonprofit leadership. He has served on the staff of churches and nonprofits in Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Georgia, Arkansas, and Florida. He served as the Executive Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, the First Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas, and the First Baptist Church, Naples, Florida. He is a longtime student and teacher of leadership development and a consultant for businesses, schools, non-profit organizations and religious institutions. Nolen has traveled abroad extensively doing mission and humanitarian work in Russia, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Brazil, El Salvador, South Africa, Canada, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has served on the Board of Directors of numerous non-profit organizations. Nolen is a graduate with honors from the University of Tennessee, Tennessee Temple Theological Seminary, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the recipient of the Person of the Year Award 2018 in the Village of Estero, Florida, the Accomplished Alumni Award 2019 from the University of Tennessee, the recipient of the Inspiring and Influential Faith Leaders in Southwest Florida 2019, and selected as one of the Top 25 Persons of Greatest Influence in Estero, Florida 2021. Nolen has been significantly involved in community and civic leadership. He served as President of the Estero, Florida, Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Estero Council of Community Leaders, and Spiritual Advisor to the Estero City Manager and City Council. He was a Co-Founder of the Estero Forever Community Foundation. He has authored several books including On Granny’s Porch, Purpose, Life-Changing Stories, and GPS Life Journey, which has been translated into seven languages and has been used in over 25 countries around the world. Nolen and Clarice, his wife of over fifty years, have two daughters and seven grandchildren. They now reside back in his hometown, Loudon, Tennessee, after living in six other states for 40 years. Nolen continues to serve as President of GPS Life Journey after retiring from church staff positions for almost fifty years. He serves as a volunteer staff member of the First Baptist Church, Lenoir City, Tennessee, where his office is located. |
